On that occasion, Prabowo appreciated the steps of close allies close to the United States such as Britain, France, Canada, Australia and Portugal who had recognized the Palestinian state.
He then asked other countries that had not recognized Palestine to immediately do it in the midst of Israel’s brutal aggression.
“We must recognize Palestine now. We must end the humanitarian disaster in Gaza. Ending the war must be our top priority,” Prabowo said.
The issue of peace forces in Gaza was actually delivered in July last year.In the inter -defense minister forum, Shangri La Dialogue, in Singapore, Prabowo said that he was ready to send troops to maintain and monitor the prospect of a ceasefire, if asked for the United Nations.
The deployment of this peace troop is also in accordance with the New York declaration supported by the United Nations.
“We support the deployment of international stabilization missions while on the invitation of the Palestinian Authority and under the auspices of the United Nations and in line with the principles of the UN, by building the existing UN capacity, which will be mandated by the UN Security Council, with appropriate regional and international support,” said one of the points in the declaration, quoted by the UN website.
The declaration also welcomed the readiness of a number of members who had submitted readiness to contribute to forming troops.
“This mission, which can develop as needed, will provide protection to Palestinian civilians, support the transfer of internal security responsibilities to Palestinian authorities, provide support for capacity building for Palestinian countries and security forces, as well as security guarantees for Palestine and Israel, including monitoring of weapons and peace agreements in the future, by fully respecting their sovereignty,” continued the declaration.
In addition to the matter of peace missions, the declaration also alluded to support for the solutions of two countries and Palestinian independence.
Palestine has become a world concern since Israel launched aggression to Gaza in October 2023. The days after that, brutal attacks on objects and civilians almost never stop.
The impact of Israel’s aggression, more than 65,000 residents in Palestine was killed, millions of people were forced to become refugees, and hundreds of thousands of houses and civilized facilities were destroyed.
