This incident took place when a massive demonstration took place in the capital city of Quito, the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies last month.The recent demonstration was also triggered by a political crisis that extended over the past year following the results of last year’s general election which became a dispute.

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Ines Manzano, called the incident as an attempt to kill the head of state.He claimed the authorities and even found traces of bullets in the President’s car.
But President Naboa survived the mass attack without being injured.
Manzano reported the incident officially to Prosecutor Ecuador.He said that five people had been arrested related to this incident.
“Shooting the president’s car, throwing stones, and damaging the country’s property – it is a criminal act. We will not let it,” Manzano said.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Office of Ecuador said the perpetrators would be charged with accusations of terrorism and attempted murder.

has not been able to verify independently whether there is a shot that was released towards the President’s car in a protest action triggered by the policy of eliminating fuel subsidies last month.
Speaking after the incident at the student event at Cuenca, Noboa stressed that his government would not tolerate such actions.
“Don’t follow the bad examples of those who try to stop us from coming to this event and attacking us. Such attacks will not be accepted at the new Ecuador. The law applies to everyone,” Noboa said.
However, the National Customary Federation (Conaie) accused that there was actually a planned violence against residents who protested Noboa’s arrival.Conaie even said that the elderly women were victims in the brutal actions of police and military officers.
“At least five people were arbitrarily arrested,” Conaie wrote on platform X, accompanied by a video showing a traditional woman herded by four policemen complete with a face covered with a black bandana.
Conaie is one of the civil society organizations that participated in a demonstration for the past 16 days and blocks a number of roads in the Capital City.
The pedemo assessed that the policy on the elimination of fuel subsidies would increase living costs, especially for small farmers and indigenous communities.
Noboa signed the executive decree to delete the subsidy in mid -September.Demonstrations even triggered the government to establish an emergency status in several provinces to maintain order.
The Naboa government defended this policy on the grounds that the budget efficiency of around 1.1 billion US dollars per year, which had been partially channeled in the form of compensation for small farmers and transportation workers.
