Sex recession for the Japanese population print the lowest record, the number of foreigners rose

Snacking sharply to set the lowest record with a reduction of more than 900,000 people last year.However, the number of foreign citizens in the land of Sakura rose dramatically.
In 2024, the number of Japanese fell 908,574, or 0.75 percent, from the previous year to 120.65 million.This is a decline in the 16th year population that occurs in a row.

Meanwhile, as of January 1, 2025, the Japanese population including foreign population reached 124,330,690, down around 554,000.
Population decline is in line with low birth rates.The number of births in Japan last year fell below 700,000 for the first time in the record.
Low birth is one of them because many Japanese citizens are reluctant to get married or even if they are married do not want to have children because of expensive living costs.This phenomenon which is often called “sex recession” also not only haunts Japan, but a number of other East Asian countries such as South Korea, China, to Southeast Asian countries.
In the midst of a population that continues to decline, the number of foreign citizens in the Land of Sakura has increased.In January, the figure reached a record of around 3,67 million foreign citizens or three percent of the Japanese population.
The amount rose 10.65 percent or 355,089 from the previous year.

The anti-immigrant party mistakenly claims foreigners enjoy more welfare benefits than Japanese citizens.
Foreign citizens even though it helps overcome the lack of labor due to aging populations, and generally have jobs in the manufacturing, hospitality, and retail sectors.
The elderly population in Japan aged 65 years and over has reached 30 percent and productive groups 15-64 as much as 60 percent.
